MusicTherapy, meditation and sound therapy for the wellbeing of Ukrainian Refugees: Italy, Romania and Germany present in the Foggia Meeting

“Music Therapy, Meditation, and Relaxation: An EU Project for Ukrainian Well-being. Foggia, Berlin, and Iasi.

The conflict in Ukraine imperils the mental health of millions, including refugees and their kin. While Europe strives to meet basic needs and foster social integration, psychological hurdles persist.

Linguistic, economic, and cultural barriers hinder access to therapy for Ukrainian refugees.

Hence, an Erasmus+ Music Therapy Project aims to provide psychological care amid the crisis.

Can music therapy alleviate Ukrainian war trauma? While medical issues necessitate doctors, psychologists play a vital role in diagnosing and guiding individuals and communities toward mental well-being.

However, linguistic and economic barriers impede access to care. Enter music therapy, an accessible method with potential to raise awareness and encourage help-seeking.

Dr. Igor Vitale (Italy) and Asst. Prof. Emanuela Izabela Vieriu (Romania) introduce the Erasmus+ initiative.

Our European project, “Music Therapy and Psychological Methods for Ukrainian Refugee Recovery,” aims to bridge this gap.

How? By offering a digital course for adult educators and producing relaxation music tracks, translated into multiple languages.

In Foggia, Berlin, and Iasi, we’ll host events and training sessions, promoting psychological well-being through music.

Join us in Berlin for the project’s music therapy event, open to all.
