The project “MusicTherapy and Psychological Methods for the recovery from Trauma, Anxiety and Negative Emotions for the Ukrainian Refugees” is a two-year project designed to create tools for the psychological well-being of Ukrainian refugees through the adoption of music and sound therapy. During the project duration we will create 2 main project outcomes: a “Music Therapy Methodology for Post-War and Post-Disaster Recovery” based on 90 minutes of video lessons, 6 teaching materials (1 per module) designed to support adult educators in supporting Ukrainian refugees in dealing with negative emotions related to indirect traumatic conditions and in finding adequate psychological and social support and 7 audio tracks of project outcomes with guided music and sound therapy exercises to directly address stress, anxiety and increase self-efficacy and targeted at adult Ukrainian refugees.
The project aims to support the adult education center in preventing negative psychosocial effects on Ukrainian refugees by adopting a sound therapy and music therapy methodology that will provide valuable support in overcoming the language barriers that refugees are facing in this current situation and fostering their social inclusion and better adaptation in the society.
Specifically, through this activity we aim to
a) Prevent traumatic conditions in the post-conflict context, including all conditions of microtrauma, vicarious trauma, acute stress syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder
b) Stimulate synergies between adult education centers and psychologists in order to offer support to Ukrainian refugees
c) Foster knowledge and flexibility of solutions offered by adult education centers
d) Reduce the imbalance of skills of adult education centers in supporting victims of traumatic experiences, negative emotions and increase the skills of adult educators
e) Extend the model for the application of other traumatic conditions and refugees from other countries,
f) Support the development of newcomer organizations in the implementation of Erasmus+ projects and their internationalization
